New Video - She Speaks

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Here's another video with Isabella chatting it up in front of the camera.

Last minute trip

Isabella and I went to visit Merah and Jack on Saturday. We ended up spending the night unexpectedly. I was too tired to drive home from LA and didn't want to take a chance. Jack made a make-shift bassinet out of a laundry basket. He ended up rigging it with a whip and dragging her around the house. She loved it. She spent most of the evening on her back as Jack took her for a tour of the house. I decided to let her sleep with me in the guest bedroom. She kept me awake most of the night kicking, squirming and crying. At 5AM I couldn't take it anymore so I put her in the laundry basket where she slept soundly until 9AM. Lol, it was pretty funny because she's actually too long for it. The pillow actually gives her leverage enough to make her more diagonal so she can fit. She didn't seem to mind. I should have put her there earlier.

We went to Jack's baseball tryout to join the minor league. The coach said that he's as good as the other 9 year olds and would be drafted for the minors. And he's only 8. How cute is that. All the "managers" that were watching kept asking about him. Goofy Jack tried out wearing that jacket. We tried to get it off of him, but he's so stinkin stubborn.

On the way there Isabella was forced into a nap with her hat that also doubles as a blindfold. This has happened once before and Ed and I decided to leave it on. Why wake a sleeping baby?

Isabella has begun teething this last week. She's not only super drooly and shoving both her hands in her mouth, but now she's been gumming a lot lately. She acts like she's chewing the air. I bought her a teething ring and it seems to soothe her. The problem with teething...she doesn't want to sleep. This is her tonight past her bedtime wide awake and wanting to play.

New Video - Playtime Collage

Friday, January 19, 2007

It's time I post a new video. The quality isn't that great as the video was taken from my regular camera. I'll try to get around to taking higher quality videos using my real video camera. Enjoy.

Four months have passed

Isabella had her four month shots on Monday. This time Ed came with me to the doctor's appointment. Isabella decided to get "pissed" as the doctor put it, before the shots were even administered. She was not a happy camper, but I wouldn't be either if I knew I was getting four shots and some yucky oral medication.

On a lighter note, here are her four month stats:
Weight 13 lbs. 13 oz.
Height 25 1/4"

Prior to her doctor's appointment I took her to work to meet my work family. They all swarmed around her and made her feel extra special.

Other random pics. I could create a photo album called "crazy eyes."

Reality TV Junkie

Sunday, January 14, 2007

Okay, I admit it. I am a reality tv junkie. I was reading MSNBC and caught a headline about Paula Abdul appearing drunk on a morning news program. I had to look it up on YouTube to see for myself. Wow, she is not altogether there. I think there is something seriously wrong with her. See for yourself.

Love the Apple store

Sunday, January 07, 2007

So, my computer has broken down twice now and my Powerbook is only a year old. We sent it in twice and the last time they returned it without doing much. They didn't see any problems with the laptop. We brought it home and of course it wasn't working again. So Ed talked to the store manager and he said to bring it in again and he'd take care of it. Well, he traded our G4 Powerbook for the new MacBook Pro. This new laptop is awesome!!!! It's super fast and has the glossy screen. The laptop has a built in camera so we turned in our iSight external camera and got a backup system instead. I haven't had time to play with the new computer, but let's just say that we have renewed our faith in Apple and will be Apple customers for life.

So I can finally post pictures from Christmas. It's a little anti-climatic now, but I know Deda and Baba have been waiting for them for a while now so here they are.

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree...

Jack and Merah got a new PS2 guitar game and brought it over to play. Ed had so much fun with it. He was such a "rock star." Merah and I had a band named "Meme 2 da BeBe."

(Ed and) I got Isabella a Bumbo seat. (I have to include Ed or else he might feel left out. He actually "gave" her money in her 529 college fund that was started by Ed's parents. Thanks Eva and Leo!) She sits in it so well. Definitely gives her a new perspective on the world. After Christmas she sat on the dinner table and became our centerpiece as we ate breakfast the next day. Merah got her the hat and booties. Doesn't she look so cute?

Jack helped out with bathtime. What a great cousin he is.

And last, a little daddy time to end the holiday chaos.

Before I sign out I have to add how much Isabella has grown. Since starting day care she has become much more vocal. She now has full range of her voice. Sometimes I can't tell if she's yelling because she's upset or because she just found her voice and likes to hear it. When I have more time I will post a new video of her talking. Until then, these pics were taken today. Notice how Ed always manages to get his head in the pics.

End of Day Two

Wednesday, January 03, 2007

Surprisingly I am really glad to be back at work. The morning of my first day I felt like it was my first day for school. I was so nervous. But after a few hours it was like I never left. As expected I had many well-wishers that asked me how I was doing. And not to sound like a bad mommy, but I was doing great. I enjoyed the adult interaction. I didn't think too much about Isabella, probably knowing that if I did I would be sad. Ed was so much more nervous about her being in daycare. We picked her up and all was good. She slept "like a baby" when we put her down for bed last night. I forgot to take a picture of her when we dropped her off, but got a quick snap when we picked her up. Ed was rushing me to leave the daycare so it's not the best picture. I still don't have my computer so I downloaded these pictures on my work computer. (I just now realized the little toddler's booty in the picture below, lol, no wonder she got a funny look on her face.)

Last Friday, Ed and I went to CHOC hospital to meet Pearl and Tom's baby, Cammie. She is just the tiniest peanut weighing all of 1 lb and 13 oz. She is so precious, danty and delicate, but you can already see some resemblances to her dad. We wish her well as she starts to bulk up and grow stronger. She already is a fighter.

We all went to CPK and had lunch. Izzy was a little crabby, but managed to take a quick catnap on Ed's shoulder.
